Are you interested in helping to create healthier homes and strengthen the resilience of tribal communities?  Do you have an interest in gaining experience working for a nonprofit and developing skills in program design, project coordination, volunteer support, social media, budgeting, program evaluation, and more?  Then consider a committed Fellowship with Red Feather.

Red Feather’s mission is to partner with American Indian nations to develop and implement sustainable solutions to the housing needs within their communities.  Red Feather believes that safe, healthy homes are the foundation for healthy families and communities.  Currently, our work is focused on the Hopi Reservation and Navajo Nation in Arizona.  Red Feather is looking for an individual interested in an internship experience with a small nonprofit based in Flagstaff, AZ.  Candidate should have an interest in learning about a broad array of nonprofit and community development job tasks. The position will vary from week to week, pending the needs of the organization and current deliverables.  A minimum commitment of 8 hours per week is required.
Application
Submit your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your interest in our work to joe@redfeather.org.

Many of our past Fellows have been enrolled in a graduate program and have been able to secure credit towards their degrees.  While these position are unpaid, Fellows develop applied skills that will benefit them throughout their careers and can even go on to become paid employees with Red Feather.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The Red Feather program office sits in an area that is sacred to over 14 local tribes, some represented among the Red Feather staff, and some not. We humbly acknowledge this area’s Indigenous nations, original stewards and Native descendants. We honor them all, their legacies, their traditions, and their continued contributions. We celebrate their past, present, and future generations who will forever know this place as home. We share a responsibility to recognize and acknowledge the people, cultures, and histories that make up our community. *Adapted from the Flagstaff City Council land acknowledgement developed by the Indigenous Commission
