Forty percent of on-reservation housing is considered substandard (compared to 6 percent outside of Indian Country) and nearly one-third of homes on reservations are overcrowded. Less than half of the homes on reservations are connected to public sewer systems, and 16 percent lack indoor plumbing. (National Congress of American Indians)

Your donation helps build safer houses and community-centric resources in Native communities.
Red Feather works at the cornerstones of peoples lives:  their homes and their health.
When one affects the other as in the case of healthy homes, the effects are magnified.
Homes get better.  Families live longer.  The benefits for good are felt for a long time.  Help us do this important work.

Individual donations make up a significant part of Red Feather’s operating budget. Your donations are vital to funding the housing repairs that are most needed and hardest to finance (like fixing leaking roofs or building ramps for elders), keeping the most vulnerable members of the community safe and healthy in their homes.

It All Makes A Difference:
see what your generosity has made possible.

Red Feather volunteers come from all over the country (and the world) to work with us to improve housing on the reservations.  We simply could not be successful without all of them.  Consider volunteering with us for a few hours, days, or beyond to join a solidarity movement for healthier homes for all.
