Sponsors

Red Feather is fortunate to receive support in so many ways:  Donations from members, gifts of precious time and talent, donations of energy and passion by our reservation-based partners, and grants from foundations who commit their financial resources, advice and friendship to build a more sustainable world.  While all of these are essential to the work that we do, our corporate partners play a unique role.  The generous donation of their products and resources enable us to significantly reduce the cost of materials for a new home without compromising the quality and beauty of the finished home.  According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, in 2003 the average cost of a new home on American Indian reservations was $125,000.  On average, the involvement of our corporate partners reduces the cost of each home by over $24,000, making the approximate cost of a Red Feather home $50,000.  In communities where average income levels are well below the national average, an unaffordable home will never be a sustainable one.  Our corporate sponsors help ensure affordability and sustainability.
