Volvo For Life Awards
Robert Young, founder of Red Feather, was named America’s greatest hometown hero at the Volvo for Life Awards ceremony in New York on April 16, 2003. The judges—Hank Aaron, Bill Bradley, Dr. Jane Goodall, Caroline Kennedy, Maya Lin, Paul Newman, Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Dr. Sally Ride helped select the top winners.

In August 2002, The Christian Science Monitor published a story about four middle school girls from the Crow Reservation that worked with Red Feather to build a community study hall for their tribe.
